CME Professional
   Competencies Survey

Dear Alliance Member:

The Alliance for Continuing Medical Education recently updated the competencies needed by CME professionals. We need you to tell us how closely these competencies match your own job responsibilities, to what extent you have attained each competency, and the specific skills that you think are required for each competency area. This information will help the Alliance identify the professional development needs of those in various CME roles.

By answering these questions, you will not only help the Alliance in its research, but also be able to get an instant snapshot of where you stand in relation to the competencies.  Keep in mind that the information you provide will be completely anonymous, and no single person should be expected to have mastered all of these competencies.

The survey should take you less than 20 minutes.  To do it now, please follow these steps:

  • Read and answer the questions by clicking or typing as indicated.
  • If you wish to have a copy of your “self-assessment,” check where indicated.
  • Finally, click on the “Submit” button to send the completed survey to the Alliance.

Preliminary findings of this research project were presented at the Alliance Annual Conference in Atlanta in January 2004.

Thank you for your support of the Alliance's efforts to help CME and CME professionals continue to develop their professional competencies.

   Marcia J. Jackson, PhD
   President
