The ACCME modified the interpretation of the Standards for Commercial Support℠ (SCS): Standards to Ensure Independence in CME Activities (SCS) related to relevant financial relationships. In situations where a person in control of CME content discloses that their spouse or partner is an employee of a commercial interest and the content being controlled is related to the products/services of that commercial interest The ACCME and the American Medical Association (AMA) are pleased to announce that they are progressing in their ongoing collaborative effort to align the two systems. The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) announce an improved web-based tool--CME Finder— that is searchable and sortable. The ACCME announced the release of their ACCME 2015 Annual Report. The report includes data from a community of nearly 1,900 accredited continuing medical education (CME) providers across the country that offer physicians and healthcare teams an array of resources to promote quality, safety, and the evolution of healthcare. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education recently closed their call for public comments for the proposed menu of new criteria for Accreditation with Commendation. The ACCME received feedback from over 245 respondents with 2,600 individual comments. The board will meet again in July to continue the discussion and possible adoption. |
