Benefits of TACME Membership

The Texas Alliance for Continuing Medical Education (TACME) is a professional organization for continuing medical education (CME) providers that liaison with numerous CME professional organizations; e.g., Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEhp), Texas Medical Association (TMA), American Medical Association (AMA), and the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME). The following is a list of benefits members receive for their annual TACME membership.

Networking


  • Opportunities to interact with other CME professionals in Texas who are working in a variety of capacities with providers in medical schools, community hospitals, healthcare systems, state specialty societies, physician groups, education companies, regional health education centers, state agency, university student health center, quality improvement organization, hospice, regional medical staff organization and country medical examiner office settings.
  • A collegial organization of CME professionals who interact via email, telephone, or in person at regional and annual meetings.
  • A Discussion Board providing members the opportunity to exchange information regarding hot topics, provider updates, questions, and more.

Mentoring

  • Experienced CME professionals who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise with newcomers by responding to questions and inquiries

Educational Opportunities/Professional Development

  • Educational events throughout the year connecting you with colleagues and providing opportunities for aquiring knowledge and improving skill sets in CME.
  • Annual 3-day conference in June which rotates between regions in Texas focusing on accreditation requirements and issues, planning and management skills in CME, updates on the environment in which physicians practice medicine, and establishing a practical forum for CME providers to share ideas and best practices to learn from each other

  • Members-only Discussion Board allows for discussion of current and relevant issues in accreditation and continuing education.
